- Take as many wrapped or sealed packages of smoked salmon as you need out of the freezer. Place the wrapped packages into another resealable, plastic bag.
- Fill your sink with cold water (not warm). Put the bag(s) in the water.
- Set a timer for 30 minutes.
- When the timer ends, check the wrapped smoked salmon to see how thawed it is. Replace the water with fresh, cold water if needed and re-set the timer for 30 minutes. Repeat this step as often as needed until the salmon feels soft.
- When it's completely thawed, unwrap smoked salmon, place it on a plate, and serve.
